Mathematical Modeler

CES Engineering is currently seeking a Mathematical Modeler for the Energy Analysis Team. This position will involve conducting advanced statistical calculations using a variety of software programs, to create realistic models of mechanical equipment and system performance and building energy use based on a wealth of historical data. The candidate will be primarily involved in projects to monitor, benchmark and optimize the energy performance of buildings and equipment, and will gain an intimate understanding of the true operating characteristics of building mechanical and control systems. Ideally, the candidate will have a university degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics, and will have knowledge of building mechanical and control systems, heat transfer and thermodynamics, statistical regression and will have experience using mathematical and statistical analysis programs such as LabView, Matlab, Mathematica, Statistica etc.

The appropriate candidate will have a professional work ethic, a clear enthusiasm for green buildings and sustainability, strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, and will be detail-oriented, motivated, a team player (i.e. a good listener and communicator). The position responsibilities and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
