EMIS is the ecoOPERA™ developed technology used as a framework for Energy Management services provided by the CES Group and the ecoOPERA™ partners. The system consists of the data acquisition, database, application and reporting servers, and web based client access portal. Once the EMIS is deployed, data is collected, analyzed and archived, allowing end customers to monitor energy usage and efficiency in real-time with the ecoOPERA™ Web Application, a Software as a Service (SaaS) tool.
ecoOPERA™ EMIS is designed to support energy management programs delivering:
Early detection of poor performance: ecoOPERA™ EMIS detects and identifies excess energy use quickly enough to allow remedial action to be taken (identifying performance in the past that could have been better is not enough!). The system allows the performance monitoring to be set up to the equipments level with minimal monitoring frequency measured in minutes. Upon poor performance detection, the system triggers alerts to notify key individuals about the problem.
Support for decision making: ecoOPERA™ EMIS user is provided with information to help him or her act when poor performance is identified. The supporting information is provided in several forms, from simple guides and charts to data mining and expert knowledge-based reports.
Effective energy reports to all decision-makers: In addition to reporting problems to operational staff, ecoOPERA™ EMIS provides reports to management, executives, engineers and other key personnel. Reports include only relevant data and are designed for the individuals concerned. Reports are timely and accessible.
Audits of historical performance: ecoOPERA™ EMIS provides details of past performance, including breakdown of energy use, trends in key performance indicators, and comparisons of energy use and key performance indicators with specified target values.
Support for identifying savings measures: Using historical data ecoOPERA™ EMIS quantifies energy use for the whole building, individual building systems, and equipments. In addition, the system supports quantification of the impact of changes in the building/equipment operations and control settings on performance.
Provides evidence of improved energy performance: Eco OPERA IS provides CUSUM reports to show improved performance against agreed benchmarks for the entire building, individual building systems and equipments. The benchmarks take into account external influences on energy usage.
Provides assistance with energy budgeting: Based on historical data and estimated influencing factors (e.g. ambient conditions, building occupancy) Eco OPERA IS provides reports that enable prediction of future energy demands with confidence.
Provides energy data to other business and process IT systems: ecoOPERA™ EMIS is able to communicate energy information with other IT systems. Examples are energy resource planning systems, corporate systems and environmental reporting, etc.
