Boban Ratkovich is the Principal of CES Engineering Ltd. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in BC and LEED Accredited Professional. Boban is also Certified Energy Manager and Certified Building Energy Simulation Analyst under American Association of Energy Engineers.
Boban has over 20 years of experience in building systems commissioning. His commissioning practices holistically combine building systems energy analysis and measurement and verification into the total building commissioning process.
Boban teaches “Energy Codes and Standards” course under Sustainable Energy Manager Associate Certificate, funded by BC Hydro Power Smart program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He also lectures on the Commissioning Curriculum under Sustainable Building Program in Vancouver.
Boban presented numerous papers and presentations about “Total Building Commissioning Process” at the industry conferences (ASHRAE, NCBC), forums and events. He is instrumental in helping BC Hydro Power Smart New Construction Division launching the enhanced commissioning program offer.
Boban is a CSA Committee member for developing a new version of the CSA Z318 Healthcare Building Commissioning Standard and Health Care Facility Operation and Maintenance Standard. He is also a member of the expect review committee for the Canadian Biosafety Standards.
Boban is currently member of the Board of Directors for the Building Commissioning Association Western Canadian Chapter.
Slobodan Vukadinov, Principal

Slobodan Vukadinov is the primary system and software architect of the company’s energy management software system and the leader of the company’s software operations.
Slobodan is a seasoned technologist with a proven track record implementing complex technology solutions. With extensive experience in defense, simulation, telecommunication, gaming and energy management, he brings a broad business perspective to technology solutions.
Slobodan has a strong history of accomplishment in software design, architecture and development, focusing on custom development, technology infrastructure, project management, team building and leadership. He has extensive practical experience in the entire application development cycle from business requirements through application deployment with global delivery model.
Before joining CES Group leadership team, Slobodan worked for companies like Raytheon Canada Limited, Thales-Raytheon Systems, Rocket Gaming Systems, Celsius Tech Systems, etc. As an independent entrepreneur he has provided technical advises and has helped develop software systems for clients such as Modus Enterprises, Team Meta Information Systems, and Spark Integration Technology.
Brett Crawford, Associate

Brett Crawford is an intermediate project engineer with specialty in managing and administrating total building systems commissioning projects.
As a LEED Accredited Professional with Building Design + Construction specialization, Brett has an in-depth knowledge of total building and LEED commissioning requirements.
Since joining CES in 2008, Brett's commissioning project experience includes a variety of Commercial, Institutional, Educational and Residential buildings. The scope of services on these projects typically includes design reviews and commissioning specifications generation during project design stage, management and implementation of construction phase commissioning activities, O&M manuals reviews and coordination of the training for the building operators and users group.
In addition to various LEED commissioning services, Brett has acted as the commissioning agent for the UBC Life Sciences Centre (400,000 square feet medical teaching and research facility) and the YVR domestic terminal expansion project. Brett also serves as part of the Measurement and Verification services team, managing several commercial and institutional projects.
Prior to joining CES Engineering, Brett was a mechanical designer with Stantec Consulting in Vancouver, BC.
In his spare time, Brett can usually be found snowboarding, kiteboarding, or any other adventure sports activities.
Kyle Bigourdin, Associate

Kyle Bigourdin is an intermediate project engineer with specialty in managing and administrating the building systems commissioning process.
As a LEED Accredited Professional with Building Design + Construction specialization, Kyle has an in-depth knowledge of the LEED process commissioning requirements.
Commissioning project experience includes Residential, Institutional, Commercial and Educational buildings. The scope of services on these projects typically includes design reviews and commissioning specifications generation during project design stage, management and implementation of construction phase commissioning activities, testing and balancing, O&M manuals reviews and coordination of the training for the building operators and users group.
In addition to his various LEED commissioning projects, Kyle has acted as laboratory certification consultant on two Containment Level 3 (CL3) research laboratory projects, managing the testing and commissioning of specialized laboratory electro-mechanical systems and preparing certification report documentation for submission to Public Health Agency of Canada.
As the project manager for CES Engineering social housing projects portfolio, Kyle is currently leading the development of Maintenance & Renewal Plan manuals for numerous BC Housing sponsored projects. .
Rudy Sawatzky, Associate

Rudy Sawatzky is a Registered Applied Science Technologist in BC. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional. Rudy brings over 15 years of industry experience to the CES team. With a focus on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, he specializes in the design, testing and operation of sustainable energy systems. Rudy has been involved with a diverse range of projects including commercial, civic, laboratory, and institutional projects. Rudy’s comprehensive mechanical background gives him a holistic perspective of the entire design process, construction management and systems operation.
Thomas Martin, Associate

Tom Martin is an intermediate project manager specializing in building energy simulation and analysis, and received his BASc with distinction from UBC in mechanical engineering. Tom has created over 25 energy models for LEED certification, code compliance, building retrofit savings calculations, and life cycle analysis of energy efficiency measures, using the modeling programs eQuest, EE4, EnergyPlus, IES-ve and HAP. In addition to modeling, Tom is currently involved in creating custom models of building and equipment performance for building monitoring and verification purposes, and in energy management and optimization projects for existing buildings.

Martina Tallis is the Office Manager of CES Engineering. She has a BSc Hons in Architectural Technology and is qualified in Building Energy Rating Assessments. She is currently undergoing LEED GA accreditation. Martina has experience in various aspects of office administration, sustainability, building environment and construction.

Homay Khatami is an intermediate efficiency engineer with specialty in energy data analysis and working on the necessary requirements of building commissioning and M&V projects.
As a certified Project Management Professional and Certified Management Consultant, Homay has acquired diverse knowledge of project delivery optimization and client satisfaction. His background in engineering and economics has made him an asset to come up with the both technical and commercial sides of assignments in the variety of infrastructure and energy projects in the past 15 years.
Previously, Homay served as technical business development representative and marketing strategist for two EMIS and energy data management companies in Vancouver, and working experience in public and governmental organizations.
He is on the board of directors of Iranian Engineers of British Columbia Associations,
and presented a few lectures on energy generation topics and energy efficiency at international and local forums.
Daniel Alfonso Ponte,

Daniel Alfonso Ponte is an intermediate project engineer with specialty in building energy data analysis. Daniel specialties include methods for modeling building energy systems, heat transfer processes, creating whole-building energy models using a variety of software programs (EE4, HAP, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, RETScreen) to estimate the energy performance of newly constructed buildings, modeling-assisted Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) of building energy efficiency measures and creating calibrated energy models of existing buildings based on monitored data, verifying building performance and identifying opportunities for improvement in building performance.

Ashley Remeikis is a recent graduate and engineering assistant with CES Engineering. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physics as well as an advanced engineering technology diploma in Energy Systems. Aside from her education, Ashley has experience in the commercial HVAC industry working as a Commercial Engineering Representative for a manufacturers’ representative firm.

Marko brought over 5 years of Software Engineer experiences to CES Group. Marko's specialities include software development focusing on website and desktop application development.
As a member of the Software Development team Marko is involved in development of the CES Group advanced energy management information system. The scope of Marko's responsibilities assume the EMIS product's life cycle, starting from the user interface design to the EMIS products' deployment and maintenance.
Prior to joining CES Group, Marko was entrepreneurial working for various regional and national corporate clients.

Nick Nastic is part of executive management of ecoOpera Systems Inc. where he is responsible for defining EMIS product directions and MBCx service offering.
Nick has over 20 years of professional experience in all aspects of the information technology industry. This includes experience in software sales, product requirements definition, packaging and pricing, industry analyst reviews and general product evangelism.
Nick is proficient in a feasibility analysis, market / opportunity assessments, strategic business planning, sales & marketing planning and alliance management.
Nick has more than 10 years of exemplary track record in selling Enterprise software solutions with 8 years consecutively exciding allocated technology quota. Nick was instrumental in eliminating objections, educating prospect staff and identifying core product value on several multi-million dollar deals.
Before joining ecoOpera Systems management team, Nick worked for Microsoft Canada and Oracle Corporation where he was instrumental in establishing their Database market presence in Western Canada.
